Cropping up at the bottom of gardens up and down the UK is the latest trend among the country’s home workers the Garden Office.

After more than a year working from kitchen tables, sofas or spare bedrooms, many of us are looking to carve out a quiet workspace in our garden.

Moving forward since the Pandemic started very few office-based staff expect to go back to their desk for five days a week.

There are many positives to garden office buildings over and above traditional extensions. They are versatile spaces that can be used for a whole host of uses. Dependant on size limitations they can often be carried out without planning permission or building regulations. Whilst building they are less disruptive than traditional extensions.

There have been a lot of companies jumping on the office / shed bandwagon, providing glorified garden sheds which are often substandard in build & specification.

A client approached us for our opinion on the ‘off the shelf’ solution. We managed to design a far superior product at a similar cost bespoke to their requirements.

The building consisted of a 225mm reinforced concrete slab, Fully insulated timber frame with cedar cladding. Fibreglass roof with 20 year guarantee, full air conditioning & electrics.

This building will be standing in as good a shape as it is today long after many of the ‘off the shelf’ garden sheds are ready for he skip.
